Job summary

International Paper in Grand Prairie, TX, is seeking a Baler Operator for the Grand Prairie Box. The role is hourly full-time with training shifts from 7am–3pm and night shift 11pm–7am.

Starting pay is $25.06 per hour, plus shift differential, with a $500 sign-on bonus after 30 days and another $500 after 6 months. Benefits and a comprehensive safety program support long-term career growth.

Qualifications

• Good attendance and punctuality.
• 2 years manufacturing experience preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Consent to a background check and pre-employment physical / drug screen.
• Verifiable, stable work history.
• Flexible to work overtime as needed.
• Positive attitude with willingness to learn and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Following all trained and published safety policies and procedures.
• Complete pre-start loader maintenance inspection report.
• Responsible for feeding paper to hogger conveyor (all facets of loading the baler).
• Load the baler using a forklift.
• Record grade, percentage of waste in compactor dumped material.
• Monitor bales for wiring, grade, and weight.
• Reading factory orders.
• Accurately reading gauges and other test equipment.
• Utilizing basic shop math and have the ability to read a tape measure.
• Inspecting product.
• Accurately completing quality checks to ensure specific directions are followed.
• Ability to maintain good housekeeping.
• Weekly cleanup functions: blow down machine, wipe shafts, clean ink systems, vacuum and sweep area, shred scrap.
• Inspect outgoing and incoming products and raw materials.
• Occasionally help clear shipping line, load trailers, and other forklift tasks.
• Other duties as required.
