Job summary

Hunt Oil Company in Dallas seeks an experienced Subsurface Manager to lead reservoir engineering and geoscience for the Bakken development program and domestic growth opportunities.

You will direct a team of engineers and geoscientists, ensure accurate forecasts and reserves, and coordinate with drilling, production, land, and finance to defend capital recommendations to senior leadership. The role emphasizes integrating assets and exploring AI-enabled workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering or equivalent.
• 15+ years of subsurface experience, including 5+ in unconventional plays.
• Experience supervising technical staff and mentoring teams.
• Proven track record in acquisitions, divestitures, or trades (A&D).
• Experience with SEC reserves, third-party audits, and economic reviews.
• Strong communication skills with senior leadership and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary subsurface team for Bakken development.
• Coordinate subsurface evaluation for domestic growth opportunities.
• Interface with drilling, completions, production, land, and finance.
• Oversee reserves, forecasts, and capital allocation recommendations.
• Guide integration of new assets and divestiture support.
• Identify AI and ML opportunities across subsurface workflows.
