Job summary

Aspire Bakeries LLC seeks a Maintenance Mechanic for our Alsip, IL bakery. You will maintain production and facility equipment, install, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.

This full-time 2nd shift role runs 12:45 PM–9:15 PM with weekend work required. Compensation ranges from $29.00 to $32.00 per hour, reflecting the critical work that keeps our bakery running smoothly and safely.

Qualifications

About the Role

We are seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at our [Location] bakery. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be accountable for maintaining the reliability and performance of production and facility equipment through installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance activities. Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience in general maintenance or related maintenance responsibilities.
• Basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to identify equipment failures, malfunctions, and maintenance needs.
• Ability to safely operate hand tools and perform basic repair work.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, walk, or climb for extended periods.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining a strong focus on safety.

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)

• Formal training in mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing systems.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic welding experience.
• Experience working with food manufacturing or food processing equipment.
• Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, food safety, and quality system requirements.
