Job summary

Hy-Vee's Bakery is seeking a friendly Bakery Clerk to greet customers, assist with products, and keep the bakery area clean and well-stocked. You'll help prepare, finish, and replenish baked goods, monitor freshness, and process payments at the counter while delivering a welcoming in-store experience.

No prior experience required—we provide training and support to help you grow. This role involves standing for long periods, keeping a tidy workspace, and following safety and dress code standards.

Qualifications

• Less than a high school diploma or equivalent accepted.
• Up to six months of similar or related experience preferred.
• Follow written and verbal instructions with confidence.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and make them feel welcome in the bakery.
• Assist customers with finding products, reaching items, and taking orders at the bakery counter.
• Review daily orders and monitor product freshness, appearance, and supply levels.
• Prepare, finish, and replenish baked goods as needed.
• Follow sanitation procedures and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Operate the department register to process payments where applicable.
