Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Bakery Clerk to keep the bakery running smoothly and to create a warm, welcoming customer experience. You’ll prep and replenish baked goods, assist customers at the bakery counter, and support the department to ensure products stay fresh and appealing.

No prior experience is required; we’ll train and support your growth. You’ll follow instructions, use basic math, communicate clearly with customers and teammates, and stay organized in a fast-paced bakery setting.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide friendly service at the bakery counter.
• Assist customers with finding products, reach items, and carry heavy purchases.
• Review daily orders and monitor product freshness and supply levels.
• Prepare, finish, and replenish baked goods from cooler or freezer.
• Follow sanitation procedures and keep work area clean and organized.
• Operate the department register to process payments where applicable.
• Maintain a tidy department and assist in other store areas as needed.
