Job summary

Ole & Steen is seeking a dedicated bakery team member for high-volume production in NYC. You’ll focus on mixing and decorating cakes and pastries, working early mornings to supply our NYC stores. This hands-on role emphasizes quality, consistency, and craft within an energetic team.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in a bakery, familiarity with Danish methods, and a commitment to safety and efficiency. Weekend availability and physical stamina are required for this role in a growing,

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of professional bakery experience.
• Experience with Danish or Scandinavian baking methods is a huge plus.
• Experience with mixing, bench work, proofing, and baking pastries is a plus.
• Ability to work weekends, and some holidays.
• Able to lift 50+lbs without restrictions.
• The ability to stand and/or bend for extended periods of time to perform essential job functions.
• Basic math skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Thoroughly follow company procedures according to health and safety standards.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Portion, shape, and store doughs to spec, using FIFO and food safety protocols.
• Scale and mix dough ingredients with precision using commercial mixers.
• Visually inspect ingredients and doughs for freshness and quality.
• Communicate ingredient usage and inventory needs to supervisors.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary workstation and follow all health department standards.
• Collaborate with fellow bakers and laminators to meet daily production goals.
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and workplace policies.
