POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Team Member at Ole & Steen, you will join a dynamic, fun, and positive workplace bringing Danish pastries and coffee to NYC. You are responsible for the quality of the guest experience, whether providing a welcoming smile, perfecting the display and sale of our products, ensuring the cleanliness and ambience of our bakery, and making sure everyone has a happy environment to enjoy as a guest or colleague.

The right person for this role is a service-oriented “people person”, who brings personality and enthusiasm to their work. You enjoy the buzz of working in fast-paced environments and seek prep work during slower times. You have a positive attitude, are able to proactively manage your time, and love finding ways to help out wherever you can.

Ole & Steen was founded in 1991 by the Danish bakers Ole Kristoffersen and Steen Skallebæk and originally called Lagkagehuset or “The Layer Cake House”. Ole & Steen is pioneer in the resurgence of artisanal and handcrafted baking practices in Denmark. In 2008 the two bakers joined forces and became the organization we know today.

We have been Denmark’s favorite bakery for more than 30 years, serving delicious Danish breads, pastries, cakes, single estate coffee and food. We opened our first bakery on Union Square in 2019 to huge acclaim and fantastic reviews and we’re continuing our exciting growth journey – we currently operate 3 retail stores across NYC, and we have plans to grow and expand over the coming years!
