Vallarta Supermarkets is seeking an experienced 3rd Assistant Bakery Manager to support daily bakery operations, lead a team, ensure high-quality baked goods, and uphold customer service standards. You will help drive sales, assist merchandising, and maintain a safe, engaging workplace in a fast-paced retail environment.

The role requires leadership, bakery experience, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Friendly, customer-focused attitude with leadership skills.
• Knowledge of baking methods and ingredients.
• Experience using bakery equipment, ovens, and tools.
• Ability to manage in a fast-paced environment and mentor others.
• Basic computer and math skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Fast-paced retail setting with direct customer interaction.
• Exposure to perishable products, bakery equipment, and changing temperatures.
• Must work flexible schedule: afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Customer Service: greet customers and team members with a smile and provide extraordinary service.
• Team Support: train, delegate, and evaluate bakery personnel to maintain safety and standards.
• Operations: assist with ordering, inventory, merchandising, and product rotation.
• Product Quality: prepare and decorate breads, cakes, and pastries with consistent quality.
• Leadership: step in for Bakery Manager as needed to ensure smooth operations.
• Safety & Compliance: enforce health policies and monitor equipment use.
• Sales Growth: suggestive selling and space management to increase sales.
• Sanitation: maintain clean, organized work areas and adhere to health regulations.
