Job Summary
Our Bakery Team Leader manages the entire bakery team and ensures smooth operations. You will guide Team Members and guests in designing the best birthday cakes and arranging delicious platters for parties. Leaders are responsible for the department's performance at all times. Represent the organization professionally, promote mutual respect, inclusion, diversity, and dignity. Coach Team Members regularly with timely feedback, identify development opportunities, and support their success.
Job Description
- Experience Required: Retail work experience or Store Leader recommendation
- Experience Desired: Retail leadership or supervisory experience; successful performance as a Peer Trainer or similar role; demonstrated product knowledge relevant to the department; good performance and discipline record
- Education Desired: High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification or Licensing Required: Varies by department
- Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds
- Travel Required: None
- Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age
Job Responsibilities
- Interview, select, and train Team Members
- Direct the work of Team Members
- Evaluate Team Members’ productivity and recommend promotions or changes
- Handle Team Member issues and complaints
- Discipline Team Members as needed
- Plan and assign work among Team Members
- Ensure safety and security of Team Members and the store
- Manage the department's budget and inventory
- Monitor compliance measures
- Oversee training to reduce turnover and promote efficiency
- Provide motivational leadership, fostering respect and setting an example
- Identify team strengths and opportunities, plan strategically
- Develop future leaders and recognize potential
- Promote inclusion and diversity, giving each Team Member a voice
- Prioritize safety for Team Members, guests, and products
- Inspire passion for food and customer service excellence
- Set and achieve sales and profit goals, manage shrink
- Maintain effective communication with the team and merchandising
