Job summary

Lowes Foods is seeking a Bakery Department Manager in the Southern Pines area to supervise the bakery team and oversee guest service, merchandising programs, and department operations. You will assume department manager duties in their absence and work to meet budgeted sales and profit goals.

Responsibilities include staff guidance, inventory control, quality standards, sanitation, training, and scheduling while performing product prep and guest service tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to supervise and train staff.
• Knowledge of bakery operations and standards.
• Willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
• Strong communication and guest service skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods.
• Proficient with computers and store systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure guests receive polite, friendly service from bakery department staff.
• Achieve budgeted sales, shrink and profits for the bakery department.
• Maintain desired level of inventory and supplies.
• Operate the department according to merchandising and operational guidelines and programs.
• Ensure the quality of product for sale meets Lowes Foods standards.
• Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department according to Lowes Foods standards.
• Provide guidance, orientation, training and feedback to ensure bakery department hosts achieve satisfactory performance standards.
• Perform product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking and guest service as necessary to achieve standards.
• Maintain department’s labor budget and scheduling standards.
• Perform PA announcements.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
