Job summary

Nothing Bundt Cakes in Schaumburg, IL is seeking a Bakery Manager/Lead Operator to lead daily operations, guest experience, cake production, and inventory control. You will drive sales, profitability, and maintain a warm, welcoming environment while upholding NbC standards.

You will coach and develop the team, manage scheduling and open/close procedures, and ensure food safety and quality across all aspects of the bakery. This role embodies NbC values and community engagement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; post-secondary education is a plus.
• 1–3 years of leadership experience in retail, hospitality or foodservice.
• Demonstrated success in hiring and developing teams and achieving financial objectives.
• Experience creating productivity goals, inventory par levels and team scheduling, and managing costs.
• Food safety training certificate (or required to obtain within 30 days of employment).
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, with comfort in learning new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead bakery team and day-to-day operations.
• Open and close the bakery, including cash handling and bank deposits.
• Manage special-order fulfillment for individual guests and corporate accounts.
• Create weekly sales productivity goals, cake production plan and team schedule.
• Adjust bakery coverage based on changing business trends and inventory needs.
• Ensure product quality, service, safety standards and visual merchandising.
