Job summary

Vallarta Supermarkets is seeking a customer‑focused Baker to safely and efficiently prepare, bake, and finish cakes, breads, pastries, and specialty items. You will ensure quality and freshness while delivering top‑notch service in a fast‑paced environment.

The role requires knowledge of baking methods across cuisines, experience with bakery equipment, and basic computer skills. Candidates should be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of baking methods and ingredients (Mexican, Central American, and American pastries).
• Experience using bakery equipment, ovens, and tools.
• Basic computer and math skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Basic understanding of English language.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist with bakery and cake orders in-store or by phone.
• Prepare doughs, batters, and mixtures; monitor oven and proofer temperatures.
• Stock and rotate baked goods; maintain displays and promote sales.
• Follow bakery safety program; maintain sanitation and meet safety codes.
• Assist coworkers; report unsafe acts; keep department clean and friendly.
• Pack, weigh, price merchandise; minimize waste; transport items as needed.
• Support department needs by cleaning equipment and performing extra tasks.
