Responsibilities

• Keeps bakery department stocked and appealing; greets customers; answers questions; resolves concerns promptly and courteously.
• Takes customer orders over the phone or in person; determines size, flavor and appearance.
• Sets up special-order tables and displays; may write on cakes.
• Ensures merchandise is fresh; properly priced with correct signage; handles spoiled/damaged products per procedures.
• May assist with production of breads and pastries; follows production logs and recipes.
• Maintains department sanitation; follows cleaning schedules; adheres to health and OSHA rules.
• Assists with receiving and handling deliveries; may use power or hand jack with training.
• May bale cardboard; training provided.
• Helps minimize shrink and report shortages to manager.
• Cooperates with coworkers to ensure smooth department/store operation; uses PPE.
