Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Keep bakery department well-stocked, appealing, and meet customer demand. Greet customers, make suggestions, and answer questions about products. Resolve customer concerns promptly and courteously.
• Take customer orders over the phone or in person, determining preferences for size, flavor, and appearance.
• Set up special-order tables during peak hours, arrange bakery cases, and build displays. May write on cakes.
• Ensure merchandise is fresh, saleable, correctly priced, and properly signed. Handle spoiled, damaged, or near-expiration products per company standards, removing non-saleable items.
• Assist with baking bread, pastries, and other goods, following production logs and approved recipes.
• Maintain sanitation by following cleaning schedules and health/OSHA standards. Dispose of trash properly.
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, operating equipment if trained.
• Help with recycling duties like baling cardboard if trained.
• Minimize shrinkage and control damages, reporting shortages or overages.
• Ensure department and store smooth operation through teamwork and continuous performance improvement.
• Use all provided PPE correctly.
• Assist in other departments as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

None.

Qualifications
