Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Maintain a well-stocked and appealing bakery department to meet customer demand. Greet customers warmly, offer suggestions, answer questions, and resolve concerns promptly and courteously.
2. Take customer orders in person or over the phone with a positive attitude, understanding their preferences for size, flavor, and appearance.
3. Set up special-order displays during peak hours, arrange bakery cases, and build displays as needed. May write on cakes as required.
4. Ensure merchandise is fresh, properly priced, and correctly labeled. Handle spoiled or near-expiry products following company procedures, removing non-saleable items to ensure quality.
5. Assist in baking breads, pastries, and other goods, adhering to production logs and approved recipes.
6. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the department, following schedules and health standards. Properly dispose of trash.
7. Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, operating equipment like power jacks if trained.
8. Help with recycling duties such as baling cardboard, if trained.
9. Minimize shrinkage and damages by reporting shortages or overages to management.
10. Promote smooth department and store operations through teamwork and continuous performance improvement.
11. Use all provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) properly, including gloves, safety cutters, and footwear.
12. Assist in other departments as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not currently include supervisory duties.

Qualifications
