Job summary

Lewis Bakeries seeks a Production Supervisor for its Fort Wayne, IN bakery operations. You will lead the production team, ensure safety, quality, and efficiency, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

This on-site role requires 5+ years of supervisory manufacturing experience, strong leadership, and a solid understanding of GMPs and bakery processes. Willingness to work weekends/OT is needed. Relocation assistance available.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of food safety standards, GMPs, and production processes.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime as needed.
• Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of equipment used in high-volume bakery manufacturing.
• Understanding of ingredient behavior and time-temperature relationships.

Responsibilities

• Implement standards for formulas, scaling weights, pan sizes, bake times, and production control processes for bread and rolls.
• Train, coach, oversee, provide feedback and assess bakery production staff.
• Lead with vision, manage change, develop others, and drive continuous improvement.
• Plan and coordinate manpower, ingredients, and equipment for efficient production of quality products.
• Direct resources to maximize efficiency and maintain product consistency.
• Promote safety through procedures and safety programs.
• Troubleshoot equipment to maintain product quality and timely delivery.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure quality and on-time Sales support.
