Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Chicago is seeking a bakery team member to prepare, bake, decorate, and stock breads and pastries while delivering friendly, efficient service to customers and team members. You will support production planning for seasonal events, maintain Datapax production modules, and follow health and safety rules.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of artisan breads and pastries is preferred.
• Ability to deliver friendly, efficient service to customers and Team Members.
• Basic computer skills for POS and store systems.

Responsibilities

• Produces quality breads and pastries.
• Produces doughs, mixes, cakes, cookies, breakfast pastries, pies, and bars.
• Performs baking, cooling, wrapping, and labeling of products.
• Stocks dry products.
• Develops new recipes and production techniques to ensure seasonal variance and high productivity.
• Trains production personnel to the highest standards in industry.
• Performs production planning and forecasting for special events and holidays.
• Maintains all production modules in the Datapax system.
• Arrives on time, groomed, and ready to work; works scheduled shifts and attends required trainings.
• Provides excellent customer service, addresses customer needs promptly, and uses suggestive selling techniques.
• Maximizes sales through proper prep, storage, rotation, stocking, and merchandising.
• Follows procedures including health and sanitation and safe work practices.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary environment; maintains equipment per standards.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties and checks signs and pricing.
• Reports safety hazards and violations immediately.
• Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.
