Job summary

Eataly Houston is opening a new store and seeks an experienced Bakery Manager to lead day-to-day bakery operations, ensuring authenticity of Italian recipes and top-quality products.

You will hire and mentor the bakery team, manage schedules and payroll, monitor costs, and collaborate with the Head Chef to maintain inventory and food safety standards across restaurant and retail channels.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of bread and related production experience.
• 2+ years managing a sales and production team; preferably in a grocery bakery department.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Degree from a post-secondary culinary arts training program highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organizes bakery operations to maximize profitability while upholding standards.
• Builds and leads a high-performing bakery team.
• Manages schedules, payroll, and time-off approvals.
• Monitors budget and collaborates with Head Chef on variances.
• Prepares bread products to recipes for restaurant and retail.
• Maintains natural yeast and organic flour usage.
• Ensures daily bakery activities are communicated with store leadership.
• Communicates with Head Chef and Head of Bakery Operations on new recipes.
