Job summary

The Winn-Dixie Company is seeking a Manager, Bakery to oversee daily bakery operations in Saint Augustine, FL. You will lead a team to ensure fresh products, friendly service, and in-store merchandising that aligns with company standards.

You will train staff, manage inventory, and ensure compliance with safety and quality guidelines. This role blends hands-on labor with leadership, planning and administrative duties to drive department performance.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math.
• Operate bakery equipment (e.g., slicer, oven, scale, knives, box cutter and pricing gun).
• Ability to perform basic cake decorating skills and baking skills.
• Proficient with computer applications used in effectively operating the department.
• Possession of Food Safety Certification or the ability to obtain same within 180 days.

Responsibilities

• Creates an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated to help build and retain customer confidence and loyalty.
• Ensures the department is merchandised per plan and maintains at shelf product availability, freshness, quality and value.
• Trains department associates on freshness, inventory levels, stocking and ordering and shelf conditioning.
• Offers customers assistance in finding or suggesting product and fulfills requests and special orders.
• Promotes trust and respect among associates by collaborating, promoting teamwork, and communicating information.
• Establishes goals for merchandising, sales and profits and empowers the team to meet or exceed the goals.
• Develops scheduling to manage customer volume during hours of operation.
• Maintains compliance with safety, wage/hour policies and food safety regulations.
