Job summary

Lowes Foods is seeking a Bakery Department Manager to lead the bakery team, ensure guest service excellence, and uphold merchandising and departmental standards. You will supervise staff, manage inventory and scheduling, and perform PA announcements as needed to support overall store operations.

The role emphasizes maintaining product quality, sanitation, and budget performance while providing training and guidance to hosts to achieve performance goals in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of bakery operations.
• Ability to supervise people including training and development.

• Effective communication, guest service and selling skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to communicate with Store Manager and Merchandiser.
• Ability to work well with computers.

Responsibilities

• Ensure guests receive polite, friendly service from bakery department staff.
• Achieve budgeted sales, shrink and profits for the bakery department.
• Maintain desired level of inventory and supplies.
• Operate the department according to merchandising and operational guidelines and programs.
• Ensure the quality of product for sale meets Lowes Foods standards.
• Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department according to Lowes Foods standards.
• Provide guidance, orientation, training and feedback to ensure bakery department hosts achieve satisfactory performance standards.
• Perform product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking and guest service as necessary to achieve standards.
• Maintain department’s labor budget and scheduling standards.
• Perform PA announcements.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
