Job summary

SpartanNash, the parent company for Family Fare, is seeking a Store Department Manager in Bismarck, ND. You will lead daily department operations, train associates, manage inventory, and ensure product quality and safety in a fast-paced retail setting.

You will oversee scheduling, adherence to plans, and adherence to company policies while guiding a team towards achieving store goals and KPIs. Strong leadership and retail knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• 0-2 years retail experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organization, prioritization, decision-making and problem solving.
• Strong leadership abilities in hands-on environment.
• Knowledge of retail store operations; familiarity with retail management systems.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Spanish communication ability is highly desirable depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day department operations in a retail store.
• Ensure staff are trained and department meets company goals and KPIs.
• Order and maintain inventory ensuring freshness and quality.
• Validate received orders for amount, quality, count/weight and storage.
• Manage a team for stocking, production and tasks to ensure quality and rotation.
• Communicate and execute weekly and period flight plans to expectation.
• Support scheduling, labor control, and payroll expense for the department.
• Maintain food safety and general safety guidelines across the store.
• Participate in daily huddles and management meetings as required.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked department per guidance.
