Job summary

Lowes Foods is seeking a skilled supervisor to oversee the bakery department, ensuring top-tier guest service and adherence to merchandising and safety standards. After training, Bench Department Managers are expected to transition to a Department Manager role within 30 miles of home, with flexibility if no position is open.

The role emphasizes inventory control, budget achievement, staff guidance, and seamless operation of the bakery department to meet company standards.

Qualifications

• Friendly, outgoing personality.
• Ability to supervise people including training and development.
• Knowledge of bakery operations.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. occasionally; stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Ensure guests receive polite, friendly service from the bakery department staff.
• Achieve budgeted sales, shrink and profits for the bakery department.
• Maintain desired level of inventory and supplies.
• Operate the department according to merchandising and operational guidelines and programs.
• Ensure the quality of product for sale meets Lowes Foods standards.
• Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department according to Lowes Foods standards.
• Provide guidance, orientation, training and feedback to ensure bakery department hosts achieve satisfactory performance standards.
• Perform product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking and guest service as necessary to achieve standards.
• Maintain department’s labor budget and scheduling standards.
• Performs PA announcements.
