Job summary

TES Recruiting is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and test equipment for industrial baking and food processing. You will size components, prepare BOMs, and maintain precise maintenance and technical documentation.

You will design bakery machinery and automated systems, develop layouts, and use CAD to create drawings and models. Travel may be required to support projects and installations across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Five years of related mechanical engineering or machine design experience preferred.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD or Autodesk Inventor.
• Experience with equipment and plant layout design.
• Experience with pneumatic system design and documentation.
• Experience with conveyor system design and layouts preferred.
• Specific operating knowledge or experience with bakery and/or food manufacturing equipment.
• Strong mechanical and technical skills with analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of project management principles and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong negotiation and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and test mechanical equipment and machinery for industrial baking and food processing.
• Provide mechanical design including BOMs and maintain documentation.
• Design products and equipment such as bakery machinery, instruments, controls, and automated systems.
• Collaborate with design and engineering teams on sketches, layouts, concepts, and plans.
• Use CAD to create preliminary and detailed drawings and models.
• Develop product specifications and select materials and systems for production.
• Build and evaluate models and prototypes to test functionality and design feasibility.
• Analyze test data and compare results to improve designs.
• Develop and support mechanical and control systems and monitor performance.
• Design and develop equipment and plant layouts for industrial processing.
• Develop pneumatic systems and associated components.
• Design conveyor systems and layouts as needed.
• Work cross-functionally to implement effective business and technical solutions.
• Support project management activities and communicate status and requirements.
• Travel as required to support projects, testing, installations, or customers.
