Job summary

Redner's Markets, Inc. is seeking a Bakery Department Supervisor to direct all functions of the bakery, provide leadership, and ensure product quality and customer service.

You will schedule staff, manage inventory, uphold safety standards, and train new bakers while meeting budget targets and health department rules.

This non-exempt role requires hands-on supervision, adherence to merchandising plans, and the ability to work with team to maintain freshness and department performance.

Qualifications

• Must have math skills for accurate counting of merchandise.
• Strong communications skills are required.
• Dexterity for bagging and packaging.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds up to half the time.

Responsibilities

• Follow merchandising plans for the department.
• Order to maintain inventory, freshness, and product quality.
• Order and maintain asset control of bread (Stroehman, Maier's, and private label).
• Enforce policies on receiving, dating, and restocking to ensure rotation.
• Participate in shrink control.
• Schedule and supervise department employees.
• Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies.
• Maintain and submit required records and reports.
• Monitor product quality and freshness.
• Comply with weights, measures, and health department regulations.
• Oversee baking and production of the department.
• Train new bakery department employees.
• Greet customers and provide prompt service.
• Promote positive employee relations.
• Maintain budgeted sales, labor, and shrink targets.
• Capable of decorating cakes.
