Job summary

Meijer is seeking a Store Supervisor/Manager in Ohio to plan, direct, and oversee daily store operations. You will mentor staff, ensure staffing coverage, and drive sales while maintaining store standards.

You will lead by example, delivering fast, courteous service, managing conflicts, and training teams for safety and operational excellence. This role focuses on customer satisfaction and store performance with opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; also customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members in the organization in a way that provides clear and precise direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and by addressing root cause issues.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead an organization that practices working safely at all times.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members in all areas of the organization including SDITs, team members in hourly positions and team leaders.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day operations within various departments of the store.
• Mentor and coach for all team members and drive customer service and sales.
• Ensure staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning with development paths and promotions decisions.
• Handle disciplinary actions and discharge recommendations.
• Manage P&L, achieve sales and maintain shrink within the department.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Promote the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and conversations.
• Ensure the team is trained in all job aspects and has completed required training.
• Spend time in-store communicating with customers and team members to ensure exceptional service.
• Maintain safe work environment and reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
