Job summary

Meijer Inc. in Wisconsin is seeking an experienced retail leader to join our team as a store manager. You’ll oversee staffing, training, merchandising, customer service and P&L, while mentoring team members and driving sales.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in meat, bakery, produce and deli; customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Clear and precise direction to team members.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information for informed decisions.
• Ability to teach suggestive selling.
• Ability to mentor team members including hourly staff and team leaders.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning by providing career paths and development needs, involved in promotions.
• Documents and applies disciplinary actions and makes recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Models exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Mentors and coaches team members to exceed goals and maintain Meijer standards.
• Ensures the team is thoroughly trained in all aspects of their jobs and has completed required training.
• Spends majority of time within the store communicating with customers and team members.
• Promotes a safe work environment.
• Reliable and consistent attendance.
