• Ability to obtain a food handler's permit once employed.

Responsibilities

• Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) will prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
• Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products that they ordered and maintain correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.
• Recommend deli or bakery items to meet customer needs and preferences.
• Use bakery equipment (refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens) per company guidelines.
• Prepare foods according to logs and cooking instructions; measure and mix ingredients as needed.
• Adequately prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients in merchandise.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness; review sell-by dates and take appropriate action.
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers and keep logs updated.
