Job summary

Kroger in Wisconsin is seeking a friendly Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) to create outstanding customer experiences by preparing items per requests, maintaining a safe, clean environment, and promoting our Customer 1st strategy.

You will assist the department manager in achieving sales goals, help customers with product samples, explain specials, and follow food safety and inventory procedures while upholding core values of respect, honesty, integrity, and safety.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills required.

• Ability to obtain current food handlers permit once employed.

Responsibilities

• Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) will prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
• Bakery/Deli Clerk should offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
• Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) will inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products that they have ordered and the correct portion size.
• Recommend deli or bakery items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
• Use all equipment in bakery and follow company guidelines.
• Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Measure, prepare and mix ingredients according to recipe.
• Adequately prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness and review sell-by dates.
