You’ll assist the department manager in achieving sales and maintain QA standards while promoting Kroger values of respect, integrity, and safety. This part-time position involves preparing bakery items, offering samples, and helping customers find the right products.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills needed to assist customers and resolve issues.
• Effective communication with customers and team members.
• Basic math for transactions and measuring ingredients.
• Ability to obtain a current food handlers permit once employed.

Responsibilities

• Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) will prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
• Inform customers of bakery/deli specials and price promotions.
• Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.
• Recommend deli or bakery items to meet customer needs.
• Operate bakery equipment per company guidelines (refrigerators, slicers, ovens).
• Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Measure, mix, and prepare ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
