Bakery/Deli Clerk (Finance)
Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
• Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products they have ordered and the correct portion size to prevent shrink.
• Recommend deli or bakery items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
• Use all bakery equipment according to company guidelines.
• Prepare foods according to recipes and food safety standards.
• Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients using appropriate utensils and equipment.
• Package, label, and inventory ingredients and products.
• Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate actions.
• Properly use kitchen equipment like refrigerators, slicers, ovens, etc.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping.
• Be familiar with store layout and locate products for customers.
• Stay current with store ads and promotions.
• Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer questions.
• Monitor inventory and stocking conditions.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain logs.
• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers.
• Follow all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Reinforce safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs.
• Report customer or employee accidents.
