Responsibilities

1. Essential Job Functions :
2. Grocery Clerk (Bakery / Deli) will prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
3. Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
4. Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
5. Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes to prevent shrinkage.
6. Recommend deli or bakery items to ensure customer satisfaction.
7. Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to company guidelines.
8. Prepare foods following food safety and temperature logs, and cooking instructions.
9. Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.
10. Prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
11. Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate actions.
12. Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
13. Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the manager.
14. Understand store layout and assist customers in locating products.
15. Stay current with advertisements and promotions.
16. Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer questions with suggestions.
17. Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
18. Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers, maintaining logs.
19. Create an environment of trust and respect among associates.
20. Make customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated.
21. Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
22. Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
23. Inspect equipment regularly and notify management of repairs needed.
24. Report customer or employee accidents.
25. Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
26. Manage conflicts reasonably and cooperatively.
27. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
28. Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
29. Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
30. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

1. Minimum Position Qualifications :
2. Knowledge of basic math.
3. Ability to obtain a current food handler's permit upon employment.
