Responsibilities include:

  • Offering product samples to help customers discover new items.
  • Informing customers about bakery and deli specials.
  • Providing fresh products as ordered, ensuring correct portions to prevent shrinkage.
  • Recommending products to customers based on their needs.
  • Using bakery equipment per company guidelines.
  • Preparing foods according to food safety standards and recipes.
  • Measuring, preparing, and mixing ingredients.
  • Packaging, labeling, and inventorying ingredients.
  • Checking product quality and freshness, reviewing 'sell by' dates.
  • Properly using kitchen equipment such as ovens, slicers, fryers, etc.
  • Labeling, stocking, and inventory management.
  • Reporting discrepancies in product orders or shipments.
  • Maintaining knowledge of store layout and product locations.
  • Staying current with advertisements and promotions.
  • Responding knowledgeably to customer questions and making suggestions.
  • Monitoring inventory levels and conditions.
  • Maintaining proper temperature logs and ensuring safety standards.
  • Creating a welcoming environment for customers.
  • Adhering to food safety and safety procedures.
  • Reporting unsafe conditions or accidents.
  • Managing conflict calmly and cooperatively.
  • Acting with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
