Responsibilities:
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
- Inform customers of bakery and deli specials.
- Provide customers with fresh products ordered, ensuring correct portion sizes to minimize shrink.
- Recommend bakery or deli items to meet customer needs.
- Operate bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
- Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
- Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients using appropriate utensils and equipment.
- Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
- Check product quality, review expiration dates, and take necessary actions.
- Use kitchen equipment properly, including stoves, scales, fryers, and steamers.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
- Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping.
- Understand the store layout to assist customers effectively.
- Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions and seasonal ads.
- Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer inquiries with suggestions.
- Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
- Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, keeping logs.
- Promote trust and respect among colleagues.
- Ensure customers feel welcome and valued by engaging with them about products.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions or equipment issues.
