Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all quality assurance standards. Responsibilities

1. Prepare bakery/deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment.
2. Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
3. Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
4. Provide customers with fresh products in the correct portion size to prevent shrinkage.
5. Recommend products to customers to meet their needs.
6. Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
7. Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
8. Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients as per recipes.
9. Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
10. Check product quality for freshness and review "sell by" dates.
11. Properly operate kitchen equipment and maintain safety standards.
12. Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
13. Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping.
14. Understand store layout and locate products for customers.
15. Stay updated on store promotions and product knowledge.
16. Maintain inventory and stock conditions, noting discrepancies.
17. Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers, maintaining logs.
18. Create a welcoming environment for customers and foster trust among associates.
19. Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
20. Inspect equipment and report repairs needed.
21. Report customer or employee accidents.
22. Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment, managing conflicts professionally.
23. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
24. Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
25. Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
26. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
