Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities

1. Prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
2. Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
3. Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
4. Provide customers with fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.
5. Recommend deli or bakery items to customers.
6. Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
7. Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
8. Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes.
9. Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
10. Check product quality, review 'sell by' dates, and take appropriate actions.
11. Properly use kitchen equipment including stove, scale, fryer, steamer, etc.
12. Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
13. Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping.
14. Understand store layout and locate products for customers.
15. Stay current with ads and product knowledge to assist customers effectively.
16. Maintain inventory and stock conditions, noting discrepancies.
17. Ensure proper temperatures are maintained in cases and coolers, and logs are kept.
18. Create a welcoming environment for customers and promote trust among staff.
19. Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
20. Inspect equipment and report repairs needed.
21. Notify management of accidents or unsafe conditions.
22. Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment, managing conflicts professionally.
23. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
24. Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
25. Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
26. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
