Responsibilities include:
- Offering product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
- Informing customers of bakery and deli specials.
- Providing customers with ordered products, ensuring correct portion sizes to prevent shrinkage.
- Recommending deli or bakery items to meet customer needs.
- Using bakery equipment according to guidelines, including refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens.
- Preparing foods per temperature logs and cooking instructions.
- Measuring, preparing, and mixing ingredients as per recipes with appropriate utensils and equipment.
- Properly packaging, labeling, and inventorying ingredients and products.
- Checking product quality and freshness, reviewing "sell by" dates, and taking appropriate actions.
- Using kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
- Labeling, stocking, and inventorying department merchandise.
- Reporting discrepancies in product ordering or shipping.
- Understanding store layout to locate products for customers.
- Staying current with advertisements and promotions.
- Maintaining knowledge of department products and responding to customer questions and suggestions.
- Monitoring inventory and stock conditions, noting discrepancies.
- Ensuring proper temperature maintenance in cases and coolers, with logs.
- Promoting trust and respect among team members.
- Creating a welcoming environment for customers.
- Adhering to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Reinforcing safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying management.
- Inspecting equipment and reporting repairs needed.
