Responsibilities include:
- Offering product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
- Informing customers of bakery and deli specials.
- Providing fresh products ordered by customers, ensuring correct portion sizes to minimize shrink.
- Recommending deli or bakery items to meet customer needs.
- Using bakery equipment safely and according to guidelines.
- Preparing foods following recipes and cooking instructions, maintaining proper temperatures.
- Measuring, preparing, and mixing ingredients with appropriate utensils and equipment.
- Properly packaging, labeling, and inventorying ingredients and products.
- Checking product quality, reviewing 'sell by' dates, and taking appropriate actions.
- Using kitchen equipment properly, including refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens, etc.
- Labeling, stocking, and inventorying department merchandise.
- Reporting discrepancies in product ordering or shipping.
- Understanding store layout to assist customers effectively.
- Staying informed about current and upcoming promotions and ads.
- Maintaining knowledge of department products to answer questions and make suggestions.
- Monitoring inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
- Ensuring proper storage temperatures and maintaining logs.
- Promoting trust and respect among team members.
- Creating a welcoming environment for customers.
- Adhering to food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Reinforcing safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and reporting hazards.
