Responsibilities include:

  • Offering product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
  • Informing customers of bakery and deli specials.
  • Providing fresh products ordered by customers, ensuring correct portion sizes to prevent shrinkage.
  • Recommending bakery or deli items to meet customer needs.
  • Using bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
  • Preparing foods per temperature logs and cooking instructions.
  • Measuring, preparing, and mixing ingredients as per recipes with appropriate utensils and equipment.
  • Properly packaging, labeling, and inventorying ingredients and merchandise.
  • Checking product quality, reviewing expiration dates, and taking necessary actions.
  • Using kitchen equipment properly, including stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, and robots.
  • Labeling, stocking, and inventorying department merchandise.
  • Reporting discrepancies in product ordering or shipping to the manager.
  • Knowing the store layout to locate products for customers.
  • Staying updated on current and upcoming promotions and ads.
  • Gaining product knowledge to answer questions and make suggestions.
  • Monitoring inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
  • Maintaining proper temperatures in cases and coolers, keeping logs.
  • Promoting trust and respect among team members.
  • Creating a welcoming environment for customers, answering questions about products.
  • Adhering to food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Supporting safety programs by following procedures and reporting unsafe conditions.
  • Practicing preventive maintenance and reporting equipment issues.
  • Reporting customer or employee accidents.
  • Working cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Managing conflicts constructively and cooperatively.
  • Acting with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
