Responsibilities include:
- Offering product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
- Informing customers of bakery and deli specials.
- Providing customers with fresh products ordered and in correct portions to prevent shrinkage.
- Recommending deli or bakery items to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Using bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
- Preparing foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
- Measuring, preparing, and mixing ingredients as per recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.
- Packaging, labeling, and inventorying ingredients and products.
- Checking product quality, reviewing sell-by dates, and taking appropriate actions.
- Properly using kitchen equipment including stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, etc.
- Labeling, stocking, and inventory management.
- Reporting discrepancies in product ordering or shipping.
- Knowing store layout to assist customers in locating products.
- Staying current with ads and promotions.
- Maintaining knowledge of products and responding to customer inquiries and suggestions.
- Monitoring inventory and stock conditions, noting discrepancies.
- Ensuring proper temperature maintenance in cases and coolers with logs.
- Fostering trust and respect among team members.
- Creating a welcoming environment for customers.
- Adhering to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
- Practicing preventive maintenance and reporting equipment issues.
- Reporting accidents or unsafe conditions to management.
