Minimum Position Qualifications:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
  • Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
  • Provide customers with fresh products ordered and the correct portion size to prevent shrink.
  • Recommend deli or bakery items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
  • Use all bakery equipment according to company guidelines.
  • Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
  • Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes, using kitchen utensils and equipment.
  • Properly prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients.
  • Check product quality for freshness, review 'sell by' dates, and take appropriate action.
  • Use kitchen equipment properly, including refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  • Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the manager.
  • Understand store layout and locate products for customers.
  • Stay current with ads and promotions.
  • Maintain knowledge of department products and respond to customer questions and suggestions.
  • Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain logs.
  • Promote trust and respect among associates.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers.
  • Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
  • Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs needed.
  • Report customer or employee accidents.
  • Work cooperatively in high-paced, stressful environments.
  • Manage conflicts reasonably and cooperatively.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
  • Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
