Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities

1. Essential Job Functions:
2. Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) will prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
3. Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
4. Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
5. Provide customers with fresh products in the correct portion size to prevent shrink.
6. Recommend deli or bakery items to customers to ensure satisfaction.
7. Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
8. Prepare foods according to food temperature logs and cooking instructions.
9. Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients following recipes with appropriate utensils and equipment.
10. Properly prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients.
11. Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and take necessary actions.
12. Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
13. Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping.
14. Understand store layout and locate products for customers.
15. Stay current with ads, promotions, and seasonal items.
16. Maintain product knowledge and respond to customer questions with suggestions.
17. Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
18. Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers, maintaining logs.
19. Promote trust and respect among associates.
20. Create a welcoming environment for customers.
21. Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
22. Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
23. Inspect equipment and report repairs needed.
24. Report customer or employee accidents.
25. Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment and manage conflicts professionally.
26. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
27. Follow directions and seek assistance when resolving issues.
28. Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
29. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications
