Essential Job Functions:

• Prepare bakery/deli items per customer requests using proper equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
• Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products ordered and in correct portion sizes.
• Recommend deli or bakery items to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
• Follow food safety and temperature logs, prepare foods per instructions.
• Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients using appropriate utensils and equipment.
• Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
• Check product quality, review 'sell by' dates, and take necessary actions.
• Properly use kitchen equipment like fryers, steamers, and scales.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping.
• Understand store layout and locate products for customers.
• Stay updated on current and upcoming ads and promotions.
• Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer questions and suggestions.
• Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, note discrepancies.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers, maintain logs.
• Promote trust and respect among team members.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers, answering questions about products.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Reinforce safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, notify management.
• Inspect equipment for preventive maintenance, report repairs needed.
