Job summary

Weis Markets in Pennsylvania is seeking a friendly Bakery Associate to help keep the bakery department well stocked and appealing. You will greet customers, answer questions, assist with special orders, and help maintain displays and signage.

No prior experience is required; a high school diploma or GED is preferred. You will work with team members to ensure fresh products, proper pricing, sanitation, and safe handling of deliveries.

Qualifications

• Completed or working towards a High School Diploma or GED; no prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Keeps bakery department stocked and appealing; smiles and greets customers, answers questions, and assists with product selection.
• Takes customer orders over the phone or in person, assisting with size, flavor, and appearance of baked goods.
• Sets up special-order tables and displays; may write on cakes.
• Ensures merchandise is fresh, properly priced, and labeled with correct signage; handles unsaleable items per policy.
• May assist with production of breads and pastries following approved recipes.
• Maintains department sanitation; follows cleaning schedules and health/OSHA standards.
• Assists with receiving and unloading deliveries and operating lifting equipment if trained.
• Assists with baling cardboard and related duties as trained.
• Supports shrink control and reports shortages or overages to management.
• Cooperates with coworkers to keep department and store functioning smoothly; uses PPE as required.
