Job summary

Gelson’s Markets in Southern California is seeking a Bakery Manager to oversee daily bakery operations, purchasing, inventory, and display in the Bakery and Coffee Bar. You will ensure stock levels and proper product placement to maximize profitability while leading a small team.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, training, scheduling, enforcing safety and health rules, and managing inventory and promotions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college strongly preferred.
• Three (3) years of experience in full bakery operations, at least one year in a supervisory role.
• Completion or participation in a management training program.
• Experience in grocery retail setting; knowledge of industrial baking equipment.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills; ability to lift and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Bakery and Coffee Bar Department staff to ensure productivity and excellent customer service.
• Develop weekly schedule for department staff while managing hours to maximize profitability and quality service.
• Comply with safety policies... store rules and regulations and all applicable regulations.
• Monitor sales volume, inspect inventory levels and maintain in-store promotional materials during promotions.
• Order product based on sales trends and inventory stock.
• Track and analyze product sales trends to develop forecasts and reports for management.
