Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Bakery Clerk to deliver outstanding customer service and prepare bakery items to meet customer requests. You will maintain a safe, clean environment and help drive department goals while promoting Kroger’s values.

The role emphasizes product knowledge, samples, and accurate portioning in a fast-paced retail bakery setting. Location is on-site within a store environment.

• Outstanding customer service skills.
• Desire to gain an understanding of food production and basic cooking techniques.

• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fastpaced environment with a sense of urgency.
• Good basic math skills.
• Ability to obtain current food handlers permit once employed.

Responsabilités

• Prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
• Inform customers of bakery specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes.
• Recommend bakery items to customers to meet their needs.
• Use bakery equipment (refrigerators, freezers, ovens) according to guidelines.
• Prepare foods according to temperature logs and instructions.
• Measure and mix ingredients using utensils and equipment.
• Label and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
• Check product quality and review sell-by dates.
• Use kitchen equipment (stove, scales, fryer, steamer, etc.).
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report discrepancies to the department manager.
• Understand store layout and locate products on request.
• Stay current with ads and product knowledge.
• Maintain inventory awareness and temperature logs.
• Promote a welcoming environment for customers.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Report safety risks or thefts promptly.
• Perform essential functions with or without accommodation.
