Responsibilities include handling recipes, using bakery equipment, ensuring accurate portions, stocking, and adhering to food safety rules. Strong teamwork and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• Desire to gain an understanding of food production and basic cooking techniques.
• Effective communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
• Good basic math skills.
• Ability to obtain current food handlers permit once employed.

Responsibilities

• Bake items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of bakery specials.
• Provide fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.
• Recommend bakery items to meet customer needs.
• Use bakery equipment per company guidelines (refrigerators, ovens, etc.).
• Prepare foods according to recipes and temperature logs.
• Measure and mix ingredients with utensils and equipment.
• Label and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
• Check product quality and review sell-by dates.
• Stock and label department merchandise.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the manager.
• Navigate store layout to locate products for customers.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Maintain knowledge of products and assist customers with questions.
