Job summary

El Super in Los Angeles, CA is hiring a Bakery Clerk to join the Store Operations Team. Under direct supervision from the Bakery Manager, the Bakery Clerk delivers friendly customer service, assists customers with bakery purchases, and helps maintain clean, well-stocked displays.

The role requires physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds, good reading and writing skills, and basic PC/Outlook familiarity. A Food Handler Card or equivalent certification is required for all food-related positions.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, shelf tags and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and employees.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly customer service in the Bakery department.
• Assist customers with bakery purchases and take special orders.
• Clean and rotate displays and shelves in front and in the store bakery area.
• Assist Baker with identifying items to bake or decorate as needed.
• Maintain department cleanliness and safe working conditions.
