Responsibilities

At Sprouts Farmers Market, the Bakery Clerk is responsible for:

• Preparing and packaging all baked goods
• Assisting the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising baked goods
• Providing high levels of customer service and ensuring bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented, while maintaining cleanliness of the bakery area
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary bakery environment, including cleaning shelves, floors, and equipment
• Stocking, filling, facing, and ensuring accurate pricing, as well as rotating bakery products and discarding outdated or spoiled items
• Receiving, inspecting, and logging shipments for accuracy, temperature, and quality

Qualifications

To qualify as a Bakery Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent; 1-2 years of bakery experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience
• Be dependable and reliable, with the ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Have an outgoing and friendly demeanor, positive attitude, and strong customer interaction skills
• Possess good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
• Be able to answer phones and take special orders
• Perform general housekeeping, including cleaning and sanitizing work areas
• Operate equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
• Stand for up to 8 hours, with the ability to transfer trays and items weighing up to 40 lbs. as needed
• Adhere to safety, health, and regulatory standards, and maintain a Food Handlers permit

Additional Information

The pay range for this position is $16.65 - $21.65/hour, based on experience and qualifications.
