(18yrs+ to apply) Bakery Clerk - Granite City

Job Description

This position involves the following major responsibilities:

1. Providing friendly and courteous service to customers
2. Ensuring regular, reliable attendance
3. Assisting customers with product selections, including suggestive selling
4. Processing incoming products from bakery plant and direct store delivery vendors
5. Packaging fresh-baked products
6. Slicing and wrapping fresh baked bread
7. Stocking product displays in cases and on shelves
8. Rotating products and straightening displays
9. Preparing out-dated products for thrift stores
10. Ordering decorated cakes from the bakery plant
11. Baking cookies
12. Maintaining cleanliness of work area and equipment following safety and sanitation procedures
13. Performing other duties as assigned by store management

Training

Training will be provided at the store level.

Physical Demands

• Bending and stooping
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Working on feet for entire shift (4-8 hours)

Additional Requirements – Internal Candidates

• Store/Facility Teammates: minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred
• Store Support Center Teammates: minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred
• Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline)
• Manager approval required for interview based on performance

Compensation Pay Range

$15.10 - $15.50
