Job summary

Kroger, operating Mariano’s brands in Illinois as part of its family, seeks a bakery department associate to deliver outstanding customer service and bakery support. You will assist customers, decorate cakes and pastries, and help maintain safe, clean shopping areas.

The role emphasizes product knowledge, friendly service, and teamwork within a fast-paced grocery environment. This is a part-time, in-store position at a Mariano’s/Kroger location in Illinois.

Qualifications

• Retail experience required.
• Bakery or cake decorating experience preferred.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products within the department and store
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products and respond to questions, making recommendations
• Decorate cakes, pastries, cupcakes, cookies and other bakery items
• Label, stock, sign, and inventory department merchandise
• Check product quality to ensure freshness and review dates
• Adhere to health, safety and store policies and procedures
